CREW Ministries exists to share the saving love of God—shown through the perfect life, death, and resurrections of Jesus Christ—with all people, especially youthful audiences. This takes action using music, humour, drama, and interactive relationships.
CREW Ministries is a family of people who’ve served since 1988 to bring the Good News of hope in Jesus to people in places all over the world. The seeds of CREW Ministries go back to The CREW, a group of four young men who were asked to lead music at a National Youth Gathering in Lutheran Church—Canada (LCC) in 1988. The CREW grew (well, except for their hair) and stayed together long after that gathering, eventually touring full-time. (They’re still touring part-time today – you can read more about their story and their goings-on on their site, thecrewguys.com.
In 1994, The CREW stepped back from touring full-time and began CREW Ministries to continue the work they had started. In the fall of 1994, the first group under the new CREW Ministries banner—A Face in the Crowd—hit the road for a year-long adventure. In the summer of 1995, we added summer teams – shorter-term teams who come together for one summer to help out with Vacation Bible Schools across Canada, and sometimes into the USofA.
We’ve administered a bunch of full-time and summer teams over the years, and we’re really proud (in a humble sort of way) that many of our alumni are serving and leading within LCC and beyond as volunteers, church staff members, Deacons, and Pastors.
